Hamain Kaisa Internet Chahiye is an initiative by Media Matters for Democracy (MMfD) geared towards increasing community participation in the discourse about policy-making around the internet.
The Internet is an open platform that belongs to everyone equally. But when policies are made to regulate it, the process doesn’t usually include the concerns and voices of the regular internet users despite constant reminders of the importance of multi-stakeholder consultation on the issue. This further results in these policies negatively impacting the rights of the regular users of the internet in Pakistan.
With ‘Hamain Kaisa Internet Chahiye’, MMfD will bridge this gap and connect voices of the citizens of Pakistan with lawmakers in order for them to draft policies that are inclusive and are based on the concerns voiced by the users of the internet. We are asking you, a regular internet user and a direct stakeholder, the kind of internet you want.
